This is a selfie camera inspired by the photo booths that used to exist in many public places. With the advent of digital cameras and smartphones, their unique selling point that the picture taken is more or less immediately available for viewing vanished. And with it, the special nature of a photograph as a physical object has also been forgotten. By printing the images on thermal paper, which is usually used as a receipt, the photograph becomes a physical object again and thus more of a special event. Thermal paper is very fragile and ephemeral, the image fades with time, as does the memory of the moment the image was taken.
